ESSI&#8217;s managing director Antonius Schr\u00f6der will be rapporteur in the second session on Co-Design for the strategic orientation on circularity. Individual member Christoph Kaletka from TU Dortmund will also be engaged in the first session and Flor Avelino from ESSI&#8217; institutional member DRIFT will also be rapporteur in the second session:<\/p>\n<p><strong>First session:<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre>22\/09 from 1400 to 1500 hours (Hub 1: Policy): <strong>Workshop \u2013 \u201cSocial Innovation: A grassroots strategy and enabler of R&amp;I policies in the European Research Area\u201d<\/strong> Speakers: <strong>Ms Signe Ratso<\/strong>, Deputy Director General, European Commission, Research and Innovation Directorate General; <strong>Dr.<\/strong> <strong>Maria Gra\u00e7a de Carvalho<\/strong>, Member of the European Parliament; <strong>Mr<\/strong> <strong>Joe O\u2019Brien<\/strong>, Irish Minister of State for Community Development and Charities at the Department of Rural and Community Development; <strong>Mr Filippo Addarii<\/strong>, Co-Founder and CEO of Plus Value Group, Co-Founder and Equity partner of Impact Alliance Holding. The session will focus on how European and national public administrations can best spread and deepen social innovation.<\/pre>\n<p><strong>Second session:<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre>24\/09 from 1100 to 1200 hours (Hub 4): <strong>Workshop - Co-design Session \u201cIncreasing the Impact of EU R&amp;I with Social Innovation\u201d<\/strong> Speakers: <strong>Ms<\/strong> <strong>Signe Ratso<\/strong>, Deputy Director General, European Commission, Research and Innovation Directorate General; <strong>Dr Olivier de Schutter<\/strong>, Professor, UCLouvain (Belgium) &amp; Science Po Paris (France). Four breakout groups will examine the potential of social innovation to increase the impact of <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/horizon-europe-next-research-and-innovation-framework-programme_en\">Horizon Europe<\/a> along its four strategic orientations:\r\n\r\n1. \u201cResilience\u201d breakout group: How can social innovation contribute to strengthening the EU\u2019s autonomy in certain strategic sectors and value chains? (Rapporteur: <strong>Ms<\/strong> <strong>Madeleine Clarke<\/strong>, Executive Director, Genio-Transforming Social Services, Ireland)\r\n\r\n2. \u201cSustainability\u201d breakout group: How can social innovation contribute to restoring Europe\u2019s ecosystems and biodiversity, and to managing natural resources sustainably? (Rapporteur: <strong>Dr Flor Dinis de Araujo Avelino<\/strong>, Senior Researcher &amp; Lecturer, DRIFT, The Dutch Research Institute for Transitions, The Netherlands)\r\n\r\n3. \u201cCircularity\u201d breakout group: How can social innovation contribute to the circular, climate-neutral and sustainable economy? (Rapporteur: <strong>Dr\u00a0Antonius Schr\u00f6der<\/strong>, Member of Management Board - European Research Area 3 \u201cWork and Education in Europe,\u201d Sozialforschungsstelle Dortmund, Technische Universit\u00e4t Dortmund, Germany)\r\n\r\n4. \u201cInclusiveness\u201d breakout group: How can social innovation contribute to an inclusive and democratic European society? (Rapporteur: <strong>Dr\u00a0Diana MacCallum<\/strong>, Senior Lecturer, Urban and Regional Planning, School of Design and Built Environment, Curtin University, Western Australia)<\/pre>\n<p><strong>If you wish to attend, please find more information below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre>- If you are interested in attending the <a href=\"https:\/\/research-innovation-days.ec.europa.eu\/\">EU R&amp;I Days<\/a>, please register soon because <a href=\"https:\/\/research-innovation-days.ec.europa.eu\/register\">registration<\/a> will be on \u201ca first come, first serve\u201d basis;\r\n\r\n- In addition, please note that the workshop on 22\/09 will allow a maximum of 200 participants and the co-design session on 24\/09 will allow a maximum of 100 participants.
