Social innovations\u00a0are\u00a0new ideas or ways of working that meet social\u00a0needs more effectively than existing traditional approaches and they are carried out\u00a0in Romania by\u00a0social\u00a0economy organizations such as\u00a0associations, foundations, credit unions, and cooperatives. They address pressing concerns around\u00a0child care,\u00a0social services, work integration of disabled people, rural community development, formal and nonformal\u00a0education, waste management, health-care services and more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Social innovation is time and context specific. That means it can mean different things in different context. What might not seem innovative in one country, may be ground breaking in another. The political and cultural background is important to understand.
