Simone Strambach is an economic geographer and professor at the Department of Geography, at the Philipps-University Marburg, Germany. She has long-term experience in (social) innovation research and the knowledge economy. Her research group focuses on ‘Knowledge Dynamics, Sustainability Innovation and Global Change’. In the center are organizational change, path dependencies and institutional dynamics in socio-ecological transformation processes at different spatial scales. Her research experiences are based on multiple national and international projects. The advisory activities comprise among others the European Commission, DFG-German Federal Science Association, VW-Research Foundation and several federal and state ministries, economic development agencies and foundations.
