ESSI Webinar: Harnessing the benefits of AI, Industry 5.0 and other digital innovations – more opportunities but also more challenges for social innovations?

On 19 October, ESSI welcomed around 20 researchers and practitioners to the 5th ESSI webinar on the relationship between social innovation and digital innovation with the title: Harnessing the benefits of AI, Industry 5.0 and other digital innovations – more opportunities but also more challenges for social innovations?

ESSI Managing Director Antonius Schröder (TU Dortmund University) welcomed the participants and the presenters. Monica Edwards-Schachter (Consultant & trainer. Founder of monValu) started with a presentation about the power of social innovation in the age of industry 5.0 and AI. Ursula Holtgrewe (ZSI), Mikkel Barslund and Karolien Lenaerts (KU Leuven) continued with a presentation featuring a discussion of two case studies conducted within Project UNTANGLED that looked into how the introduction of innovative solutions impacts workers. Ralf Kopp (TU Dortmund) supported the webinar as a discussant.
